well well, look who decided to finally get a driver license 18 months after moving to her current residency.
if you're an oregon official reading this, please disregard this post.
no, wait. while i have you, can i tell you how AWFUL your DMV is?
as if any DMV is a walk in the park, but yours.. well it really takes the cake.
it's trashy, slow, and a waste of an afternoon.
(o.k. i'm glad i got that off my chest.. moving on.)
yep, eighteen months- the answer to, "how long can kate handle living in a studio apartment."it seems this week i've met my breaking point.
and today, after lugging three massive loads of laundry downstairs, hauling it into my car, driving fifteen minutes to the decent laundromat (see: not as ghetto as the rest), and waiting for two hours i'm really done. finished. over it.
i'm going to give up the charm and wood floors, for the reserved parking spots, bathtub, dishwasher, closets, and square footage, and i'm proud about it.
decision made.
look for me in the 'burbs sometime this spring.
you want to hit up target and then maybe applebees for lunch?

No shame. Target rocks.
ReplyDeletei know. target that's a couple of blocks away? i'm totally in! best.store.ever. :)
ReplyDeleteLaundromats are the worst.
ReplyDeleteDMV is too, actually. I had to go 4 times last time I got a new license. UGH!!! Scary, too.
But target... Now target makes everything better :)
A dishwasher sounds like heaven--in my flat it's me!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Let me know when you are moving, I will send dad right up, ha ha! Loved the split bang comment. I know that has always drove you nuts. Oh well. Love Ya Mom
ReplyDeleteI love that you have saved your driver license for each state. I tried doing that and they wouldn't let me.
ReplyDeleteTell me about Downton Abbey I have heard lots about it. Is it an old show?
I live in east Portland and having nearby Target stores is kind of the best.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've never been to a DMV outside of Oregon so I just assumed they were all terrible. Are they really just bad here?
woah hey, we're on the same Laundry wavelength! (or maybe it's just this time of year. I can feel myself focusing on the day-to-day since those "big adventures" that come with warmer times are a little farther off).
ReplyDeleteand congrats on being officially Oregon now!
18 months? I feel a challenge coming on... I swore I'd update my tags this fall but you've inspired me, haha.
ReplyDeleteHey you look good in those pics! The last time I had to renew my license I was 8 months pregnant and chubby faced. Not fair.
ReplyDeleteDMVs are the closest thing to hell on earth, I swear. and I think I've hit my breaking point with apartment living this week too. our apt is actually pretty big for a 1-bedroom, but still...need. more. space!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the licenses! Very fun! My bangs do that too. Drives me nuts.
ReplyDeletei always had that issue with my bangs too.
ReplyDeleteand target is the best.
yes to target. applebees, no. chilis? yes, i'm in!
ReplyDeletewe lived in a one room loft-type apartment until macy was 6 months, so i know of this "growing out of your space" you're talking about...
that blue utah license is a total glamor shot, kate. for real!
ReplyDeletehahaha this is great. i seriously hate all my ID pictures, no matter how hard i try. i feel ya girl. bangs will do that to ya!
ReplyDeleteI am really of proud of you for taking a stand and making your life a little bit better!
